Finnish construction magazine, Rakennustaito has written an article about how vulnerabilities familiar from computers are an acute problem for the Internet of Things, and building automation has increasingly become a target for such attacks. The Finnish provider of industrial cooling and ventilation automation systems for indoor skating rinks, Suomen Tekojää Oy, had ten of their locations hacked through mobile network. Tosibox’s patented solution for data protection has already been taken into use in approximately 20 percent of Finnish ice halls. The company has won the 2016 Finnish Security Award for its innovation.
The article is titled “Tietoturvateknologia tulee talotekniikkaan” (Data Security Technology Concerns Even Building Services Engineering), and it was published in the issue 6/2016. It can be read online at Rakennustaito’s webpage.
