Boot 6, the team consisting of Tosibox R&D experts, made it to the second place at Information Security Challenge (Tietoturvahaaste) hacking competition finals last weekend. This competition was organized by Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (Viestintävirasto).
The challenge started already in October and Boot 6, a.k.a. Mikko Korkalo, Kari Takanen, Jari Tenhunen and Esa Törmikoski, worked their way through semifinals. The top 5 teams were then invited to the final hackathon that took place as a part of Junction 2016, Helsinki, Nov 25-27.
“I am super proud of my team” says Jari Tenhunen, Head of R&D and continues, “It is professionally important for us to understand how bad guys attack in order to be able to fight back. We were surprised with the amount of findings, 170 in total. This Information Security Challenge was the first hacking competition we participated and it was very interesting and inspiring experience. I am sure that we will continue this kind of activities in one form or another. We want to thank you Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority for the interesting challenge and naturally congratulate Adminadmin and Bazooko Circus!”
