TOSIBOX® technology secures building automation systems in popular public buildings

The building technology of new popular public spaces, Amos Rex art museum and Central Library Oodi in Helsinki, Finland are adjusted remotely with Fidelix’s building automation system and the award-winning TOSIBOX® connectivity solution. The secure and easy-to-use remote access technology brought cost savings already during the buildings’ construction phase.

TOSIBOX® IoT connectivity technology is widely recognized as the industry standard in building automation, where secure connectivity is paramount. TOSIBOX® Lock secures the building automation system as its firewall prevents all unnecessary transmission of data. In addition to Amos Rex and the Central Library Oodi, TOSIBOX® technology secures already hundreds of Fidelix’s other building automation systems as well.

“The security risks of remote connections are nowadays recognized even in the property management sector, and customers invest in secure solutions. Cyber attacks can cause great damage, for example, by cutting off heating from buildings. Hacking of unprotected automation devices is a serious threat, and hijacked devices can be used, among other things, to implement denial-of-service attacks. Tosibox offers a secure and easy-to-use solution for remote access, data collection and network management,” says Jarno Limnéll, CEO at Tosibox.

The new Helsinki Central Library Oodi has gained great popularity, and in just four months since its opening it already welcomed more than one million visitors. Opened in 2018, Amos Rex is a private art museum whose spectacular exhibition spaces attract daily queues.
